Why do I get an “Old format or invalid type library” error when using Microsoft excel during batch analysis?

An Old format or Invalid type library error message (as seen in the image below) during batch processing from FCS Express to Microsoft Office Excel results from an issue regarding how Microsoft Office Excel was installed on your computer.

The issue is that Microsoft Excel was installed in a particular language, but Windows is running in a different language, causing a problem when other programs try to access Microsoft Excel.

To avoid running into this problem, please make sure that Windows is set to use the same language that was used to install Microsoft Excel.
