Why are there sometimes access violations when I save and load files?

If your data is located on removable storage like a Zip disk or CD Rom drive, FCS Express may give you errors when saving and loading. In fact, any storage media that is slow, including a slow network, can potentially cause these types of problems, especially in older and slower machines. The simplest solution is to temporarily copy the data files to a directory on your local hard drive. You can then copy the resulting layouts back to the slower media when you are done.
