Can a set of quadrants be both percentile and floating?

In FCS Express 7.20.0020 and later, the Floating and the Percentile option can be active at the same time. However, the Percentile option only applies to the centerpoint, and not to the four vertices (which might be misaligned when Angles are used)

We thus discourage setting quadrants with both those options active, since non-orthogonal angles will introduce discrepancies between the chosen percentile and the percentage of events that will be actually calculated in the resulting non-orthogonal quadrants.

For example, in the plot below, the centerpoint of the quadrants is set at the 30th percentile along the X axis and Y axis. When the arms of the quadrants are each parallel to an axis (and form 90 degree angles), the percentage of events in the Upper-Left and Lower-Left quadrants total 30%. Likewise, the percentage of events in the Lower-Left and Lower-Right quadrants total 30%.

If the quadrants are set as Floating, and the quadrant angles are non-orthogonal, the percentages in the Upper-Left and Lower-Left quadrants no longer total 30%. The centerpoint remains at the 30th percentile along the x and y axes.
