What is a configuration file?

A configuration file provides information to FCS Express about which options are available for your software. FCS Express loads it when it first starts up, and is required for FCS Express to run. When you purchase FCS Express, or download the demo, a configuration file is emailed to you. Configuration files are required for all installations of FCS Express.

If the program is started without the file, the configuration wizard will appear, and you will be able to select the configuration you have purchased. In this way, the program can set up your configuration file automatically. You can also get the configuration file from our web site, in the My Account section , or you can use the configuration file that was emailed to you after purchase.

A detailed explanation of how to obtain your configuration file can be found on our installation instructions page.
