How do I run 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the software for the same network license?

If you are running FCS Express 6 or higher, 32-bit and 64-bit machines on a network can now share a common configuration file associated with a single network license so both operating systems may be used for a network license of FCS Express.

How to configure your file directories for multiple version installations and a single configuration file

By default, the configuration file is located in the same folder as the FCS Express.exe in the file directory.

However, if you would like network users to be able to access both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of FCS Express, directories must be created manually for each version executable with a common folder for a configuration file.

Separate folders for the 32-bit and 64-bit FCS Express executable files must first be created, and a separate folder for the common configuration file must be located in a folder parallel to the folders contain the exectuables. The appropriate version of FCS Express should be installed in each 32-bit or 64-bit folder according to our network installation instructions and the configuration file manually retrieved, via the email you received with your purchase of FCS Express or by accessing Your Account on the De Novo Software website, and placed in the Config folder.

Below is an example of how to configure the file directory:

Configuration location: \\server\share\De Novo Software\Config

32-bit exe location: \\server\share\De Novo Software\FCS Express 6 Flow Research Edition-Win32

64-bit exe location: \\server\share\De Novo Software\FCS Express 6 Flow Research Edition-Win64
