How can I exclude histogram overlays from batch processing?

By default, every histogram overlay is set to automatically change to a different data file as the user navigates from iteration to iteration.

With a histogram overlay containing multiple data files, you likely want to disable that behavior so each overlay does not attempt to change to another data file.

Please follow these quick steps to prevent the data files in the histogram overlays from changing as you navigate from iteration to iteration:

  • Right-click on the histogram > select Format (or in recent versions of FCS Express, select Format this plot > Overlays)
  • If not already done, choose the Overlays category

  • Highlight all of the overlays in the Overlay List.
    • This can be done by clicking the first entry, and holding the shift key while clicking the last entry.
  • Uncheck Change data file during Next/Prev/Batch (See screenshot below)

I expect that some or all iteration numbers that were previously gray will now be blue and clickable.

Example of Gray iterations before changing the overlays settings:

After changing the Overlays settings, those iterations are now blue. As we navigate from iteration to iteration, the histogram does not change, but the other plots and objects in the layout do change.
