Linking Quadrants
One of the many time saving features that FCS Express offers is the ability to link quadrants from one plot to another. This means that when the quadrants on one plot are moved, the quadrants on the other plot will be automatically updated. Linking quadrants is useful in circumstances when you want to set up a negative quadrant on your controls, and have the quadrants on your sample data automatically update.
In FCS Express 7.20 and later, gates are automatically created for each quadrants displayed on a plot. Quadrant gates and can be manipulated like any other gate and may be used anywhere in the gating hierarchy. Quadrant gates are particularly useful if you wish to display, back gate, or perform further analysis on only the cells within a quadrant on any plot.
The two plots below contain quadrants with centerpoints that are not linked.
The centerpoint of the quadrant on the left can be linked to the centerpoint of the quadrant on the right.
The centerpoints of the quadrants are now linked. As the centerpoint of the left set of quadrants is moved, the centerpoint of the right set of quadrants matches its position.
