Authorizations and Permissions Rules

All objects in FCS Express may be assigned Authorizations and Permission Rules, which are layout-level controls.  Authorizations may be set to allow or prevent an object to be placed in Select and/or Edit modes, while Permission Rules can be used to permit or prohibit user rights to perform any action.  These controls can be set to always allow, never allow, or conditionally allow based on a conditional statement evaluating to true.  Authorizations and Permission Rules can be used when creating a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).  Since they may even be set to allow an action based on the completion of a step in an SOP, they provide added utility in the quality control of an analysis.

Examples

In the Formatting category, Authorizations, objects may be kept from being put in Select or Edit mode by selecting one of three options to enable these authorizations: always allow, never allow, or custom to evaluate a conditional statement.  If the conditional statement under Custom evaluates to true, the user can select and/or edit the object as allowed.
