FCS Express: Panels

Automatically load your data files into the correct plots

FCS Express allows you to create sophisticated analysis reports showing plots from many data files in the same analysis layout. Panels allow you to quickly change all of the plots to a new set of data, while preserving the relationship between them. For instance, if a particular plot was showing a particular tube from the previous data set, it will show the same tube from the new data set.

A layout with an active panel can be saved and used over and over again to analyze multiple sets of data files quickly. Using Panels to load data files can help simplify complicated routine analysis procedures such as compensation matrices, antibody dilutions and titration studies.

Creating a Panel

It is easy to create a panel. Simply define the number of tubes in your panel and enter a description of what is in each tube.

Once a panel is defined, the data sets in the data list are automatically assigned to one of the tubes. Of course, you can rearrange them if you like.

Once an active panel is defined, all you have to do is change the data sets in the data list, and the entire layout updates automatically!

Panels in the Clinical Lab

Many Clinical labs use predefined panels to simplify and standardize their assays.  These panels can consist of one or two tubes such as those run for performing simple assays or screening tests, or they can consist of many tubes to define a more complex assays or complete workups.  In either case, FCS Express also allows you to automatically load an entire panel's worth of data into your analysis layout.  Each file will automatically populate the appropriate plot in your analysis layout.  Panels allow you to rapidly change all the data in a particular layout to a new set of data files or to analyze multiple data files patient by patient greatly decreasing the amount of time spent analyzing your cases.
