Loading data from the MDC Store in FCS Express

FCS Express is compatible with the Molecular Devices MDCStore database to provide compatibility with any instruments using the MDCStore.

Configuring the MDC Store

You will first need to ensure your access to the MDC Store is configured correctly.

  1. Open the 32-bit ODBC configuration.
    1. Navigate to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder.
    2. Run odbcad32.exe.
  2. Click on the System DSN tab in the ODBC Data Source Adminstrator window.
  3. Follow steps 4-12 listed on the Molecular Devices SQL Client Configuration Document to ensure a 32-bit ODBC driver is used.

Additional Notes regarding MDCStore ODBC Configuration:

  • Before creating a datasource on a Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer check if  User Access Control (UAC) is enabled (accessible in Control Panel > User Accounts). If so then you must set AcuityXpress to "Run as Administrator" (Right click on the icon> Properties) before attempting to create anODBC connection.
